The Vigil Honor was created in 1915 when E. Urner Goodman became the first Vigil Honor member. Membership in this honor is a high order of distinction given to Arrowmen who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to service. It is reserved for those Arrowmen who, through personal effort and unselfish interest, have made distinguished contributions beyond the immediate responsibilities of their positions in the lodge.

Any Arrowman who has been a Brotherhood member for two or more years at the time of consideration is eligible for the honor. Any member of Blue Heron Lodge may suggest an Arrowman to the Vigil committee. Nomination forms are typically available in the late spring.
